Marquez lands a jab to keep Mayweather off of him but he better avoid those lead left hooks or it's going to be a short night! Mayweather lands a straight right hand and it's clear who's the harder puncher. Marquez lands a right hand and then Mayweather lands his own. Marquez blocks the lead left and the follow-up right. Marquez is very tentative and the round is over. Man, Floyd is quick!

Floyd lands another jab and then ties him up. Marquez blocks the jab and the incoming left hook. Mayweather looks fast! Marquez tries to come over the top with two right hands but Mayweather blocks them. A nice jab from Mayweather and Marquez lands a shot to the body before Mayweather returns with a body jab. Marquez is having to reach and he eats a straight right hand. A left hook lands for Marquez and Mayweather lands a right. Floyd is leading with left hooks and they're landing. Marquez is tentative and he gets his left hooks blocked. End of the round.

Round 1: Ok here we go with this highly anticipated rematch! John is on his toes and he's getting his jab in early. Notably John has "Thunder Gatti" on his trunks - that's cool. John lands a straight right hand. Juarez is attempting to go to the body right off the bat which is a good move. Now Juarez begins to jab but he takes another right hand. They get tied up along the ropes and the round ends with a right hand from Juarez.

Round 2: Johns fires off a pair of jabs. Now Juarez lands with a jab of his own. A right hand over the top lands for Juarez. More jabs coming from John and they exchange left hooks. Solid body shot for John and then two straight jabs connect. Very hard right to the body of Juarez. Solid exchanges from both men. Juarez lands with two jabs but misses a straight right hand. John is still effectively landing the one-twos. A left is low for John and the round is over.

Round 3: Juarez connects with a sharp jab but doesn't follow it up. John now misses with a straight right hand and eats a left hook. Juarez blocks an incoming right and fires a hook to the body. John seems a little quicker handed though. John is ducking prety low to avoid the right hands but hasn't been rabbit punched...yet. An overhand right hits Juarez on the back of the head. Vicious right to the body of Juarz but now Juarez lands a left and the round ends.

Round 4: John is doing a good job of boxing from the outside. Round 3 was a little closer but here at the start of the 4th, you can see John being effective with the jab and he's smartly following it up with right hands up the middle. A straight right lands for John and Juarez felt that one. Under a minute left and it's all John. Juarez is trying to fire back after John stops throwing punches but that's not going to earn him any points. Another solid right hand lands for John. They trade a few hooks to end the round. Good round for John. Juarez' face is getting marked up now.

Round 5: Juarez ties John up from the get go after eating a right hand. Juarez misses with a big right hand. Good right uppercut for John. He's moving left to right and his footwork is giving Juarez issues. Another right hand down the pike lands for John. It's been John all night...his boxing abilities is getting the job done.

Round 6: Juarez forces John to tie up and tries to rip some power shots to no avail. Juarez blocks a couple of hooks from John but offers nothing in return. Rocky's face is swelling up. A left hook lands for both fighters and then a right hand connects to finish the round for John.

Round 7: John is putting on a boxing clinic guys. Juarez just has no answers so far. More of the same from both men in the 7th. Ohh and a right lands over the top for Johnn. A left and a right, then a left uppercut for John landds. Easily another John round. It's not even close.

Round 8: Double and triple jabs from John and he connects with a right...and another right..and another. Juarez throws a right to the body and then eats two jabs. Big miss by John but Juarez doesn't make him pay. A right is partially blocked by Juarez and he lands a body shot in return. John is just making Juarez miss often.

Round 9: It's all John ladies and gentleman.

Round 10: Nice left lands for Juarez to open the round. John is dancing around the ring now but he's eating soem jabs from Juarez. Now a left lands for Juarez. A bit of a better round for Juarez as John slows down enough to give some openings. A right hand lands from John but he seemed to take the round off.

Round 11: Big right hand from John and he's back to boxing. Juarez however is trying to slug it out and he lands a few shots to the body. John is shootin ga combination on the inside but they both look exhausted. Juarez lands two hard left hooks and then a right hand. His best combination of the night. John looks very tired and Juarez took advantage in the 11th.

Round 12: A right hand lands for John and now he's back to jabbing away from the outside. A left and then a right uppercut lands for John. He's picking up the pacce again and is winning this round. some accidental headbutting going on as well. A left hook lands for Juarz and John gets stunned! JOHN GETS BUCKED...they now trade and john holds on. Juarez slugs away but John is holding tight and the round is OVER! Another minute and Juarez may have scored the knockout...great finish!

John defeats Juarez. Scores: Glen Hamada 114-113, Adalaide Byrd 119-109, Herb Santos 117-111.

Michael Katsidis vs Vicente Escobedo

Round 1: This should be a good one. The two come out firing away with the jabs but there's some power coming behind the follow up hooks. Katsidis connects with a right hand but Escobedo comes up with a one-two. They both land their jabs and Katsidis misses with a left uppercut. There appears to be a cut over Katsidis' left eye already. Nice left hook connects for Katsidis. Escobedo is boxing pretty well but Katsidis is pressuring. Both land their right hands and then they exchange hooks.

Round 2: Katsidis traps Escobedo along the ropes and he's ripping away with hooks to the body and uppercuts. Escobedo better not let Katsidis work on the outside - he'll want to box from the outside to be effective. Escobed throws a triple jab but eats a right cross in return. Hard body shots from Escobedo and now a combination to the head. We're halfway through the round and you can see Escobedo now looking to focus on the body while still throwing the left jabs. Good straight rigiht hand from Escobedo. Good hook to the body from Escobedo to close the round. Better round for Vicente.

Round 3: Decent one-two for Escobedo. Katsidis keeps coming forward and he lands a good jab. Escobedo is moving in circles and they both land a hook. Just seems like Katsidis' punches are the harder of the two. Katsidis uses his shoulder to push Escobedo back and he rips a left hook to the body.Nice right uppercut lands for Katsidis and then they trade jabs. A right hand lands to the body for Katsidis and then Escobedo returns fire with two hooks to the body. A big right to Escobedo's body and he misses with his combo. Good round for Katsidis.

Round 4: A straight right connects for Escobedo. Katsidis now lands his own short hook to the chin of Escobedo. Pretty good action so far. Escobedo misses with a jab but lands with the right hand. Katsidis is using his head to back Escobed back and he's allowing it to happen. Quick uppercut lands for Escobed but there's not much behind it. A short left hook lands for Katsidis that backs him up. Blood pouring from Katsidis' eye and the round is over.

Round 5: They're trading hooks in the corner here in the first minute of the round. The blood luckily for Katsidis doesn't seem to be a problem at this juncture. Nice pair of jabs from Escobedo and Katsidis lands a right cross right on the cheek. Escobedo is getting walked down...Katsidis eats a straight right hand but connects with a combination of body shots. They both land hooks and Escobedo finishes with a jab but it's Katsidis who looks the most impressive here.

Round 6: Katsidis lands a left hook and Escobedo buckles momentarily but looks ok. Double jabs for Escobedo but Katsidis has him in the corner once again as he unloads to the ribcage. Escobedo spins out finally. Katsidis has Escobedo leaning on the ropes and he's connecting with a handful of hooks. Escobedo lands a good right hand but takes a stiff right for his troubles. A right hand lands for Katsidis and they exchange hooks to finish the round. Closer round but Katsidis takes it in my opinion.

Round 7: Both their faces are looking the worse for wear as they exchange rights in the center of the ring. Katsidis touches Escobedo upstairs and now he has him against the ropes again. Escobedo better stay off those ropes before he eats a flurry of punches. Good pair of hooks by Escobedo with less than a minute to go. The winner gets a shot at Marquez if Juan Manuel loses tonight. Closer round and a tougher one to score. I'd rather be Michael K in that round so I'll give him the nod.

Round 8: A jab lands for Katsidis and just misses with a straight right hand. Now it lands for Michael and then a left hook. Katsidis is starting to land some hard blows in this round and Escobedo begins to look a little worried. A bit of a lull in the action now with about a minute to go. They tie each other up and Escobedo takes a punch to the ear. Escobedo lands a right and then a left but it's Katsidis who's landing all the punches here in the 8th.

Round 9: Escobedo connects with a pair of jabs and then a right to the body. You can see though that his punches have no steam on them and Katsidis continues coming forward. Another series of hooks to the body land for Katsidis. Ooh and Escobedo finally lands a meaningful blow as an uppercut lands flush on the chin of Katsidis. Less than a minute to go and Escobedo lands another one-two upstairs. More body attack from Katsidis which is slowing Escobedo down. Round is over. Katsidis landed more shots but I thought Escobedo landed the cleaner ones.

Round 10: Katsidis eats a few punches but he comes up to Escobedo's chest and rips a few hooks downstairs. Escobedo's trying hard to land his hooks to the head but with Katsidis crowding hiim they don't land flush. Some hooks landing for Katsidis and the round is over. Not a whole lot went down in the 10th.

Round 11: Katsidis lands a right cross to Escobedo's face to start things off. He now misses a left hook. Escobedo keeps his hands low to block the incoming body shots and now Katsidis goes upstairs. A right hand lands for Katsidis and then a follow up body shot. Lots of holding now in this round as they're visibly tired.

Round 12: They're both going for broke. Katsidis is winging away but Escobedo tries to return fire. A quick right lands for Escobedo. A big left lands for Katsidis and Escobedo's bleeding from a cut on his right eye. Vicente is trying, there's no denying it but he can't hurt Katsidis. They finish throwing bombs and the round is over. Good scrap.

Cornelius Lock vs Orlando Cruz

Lock landed a hard hook that sent Cruz crashing down to the canvas in the first round. Though Lock threw two more punches, that first hook had Cruz in trouble. We're in round 5 now in a decent scrap.

A vicious hook in round 5 sends Cruz down to the canvas and is very hurt. Only moments later, though he beat the count, the fight is waved off. Lock earns himself a 5th round TKO.

Alhough Floyd Mayweather Jr. is undefeated, he still has a lot to prove Saturday night in Las Vegas. Mayweather, who last fought December 2007 vs Ricky Hatton, must show against Juan Manuel Marquez that his boxing skills are still there.

Meanwhile, Marquez has been in plenty of battles in the past 18 months. He lost a controversial split decision in a rematch with Manny Pacquiao, stopped the well-regarded Joel Casamayor and rebounded to stop Juan Diaz to win the lightweight title.

Despite the fact that Marquez and Mayweather are considered very smart, technical fighters who can make adjustments during the fight, many boxing critics are saying that the tempo of the fight will be determined in the first few rounds.

Breaking news! The Mayweather Jr. vs Marquez bout on July 18 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas has been postponed. Why? Read on and find out.

Floyd Mayweather Jr.’s comeback fight is pushed back because he suffered a rib injury during training last week. This was supposed to be his return after a year-long interim retirement.

Mayweather officially ended his retirement on May 2 this year when he announced he would fight Marquez. They were scheduled to fight at a catch-weight of 144 pounds, more than Marquez has ever fought and the lightest weight for Mayweather since 2005.

Mayweather expressed his disappointment over the injury that forced him to postpone the welterweight fight. He said he was looking forward to getting back in the ring. The former 5-division champ hasn’t boxed since knocking out Ricky Hatton in December 2007.

Marquez (50-4-1, 37 KOs) said in a statement from his training camp in Mexico that he was also disappointed. Marquez was reported to receive a minimum $4 million payday for the fight.

Mayweather tried to work through the injury but the extent of the injury proves to be really painful for the welterweight boxer. If Mayweather recovers from the rib or cartilage injury, a likely date is Sept. 19, which is the weekend of Mexican Independence Day and a weekend where there is traditionally a major fight involving a Mexican boxer. Marquez is regarded as Mexico’s No. 1 active fighter.

Mayweather knows how dangerous of an opponent Marquez is and he wants to make sure he is in the best shape possible come fight day. It is a big fight awaiting these two. More so because this fight is supposed to determine who is worthy to meet the current pound for pound champ Manny Pacman Pacquiao in the ring.

Manny Pacquiao Wants Floyd Mayweather

Manny Pacquiao said that he wants to fight Floyd Mayweather Jr after his fight with Juan Manuel Marquez. And in response, Mayweather said that it will only happen if there's a 50/50 split on the earnings.

Can this megafight happen? If so, then Mayweather has to win his fight vs Marquez to make this come true. If not, Pacquiao vs Mayweather is still possible but Floyd should expect that he will get the least portion of the earnings.

It seems that the upcoming Mayweather vs Marquez fight is slowly getting some steam and marketing. After the successful press tour, sports boxing fans are now starting to consider the Mayweather vs Marquez fight as the road towards Manny Pacquiao.

The Mayweather vs Marquez fight is dubbed as Number One vs Numero Uno. But whichever way you look at it, both Number One and Numero Uno belongs to Pacquiao as he is currently the best pound for pound boxer.

Anyway, I'm sure the Mayweather vs Marquez fight is something that all boxing fans are highly anticipating. And this will be one great fight on July 18.

Mayweather Has Been On The Road

During the latest press conference wherein Mayweather announced his return from retirement to fight Marquez, he says that he's also been on the road.

The undefeated American bragged about being able to run seven miles everyday. Certainly a good way to train for now. But he also needs to brush up on his fighting skills.

Maybe this is the reason why Pacquiao said that Mayweather might be running a lot during his fight against Marquez. Let's see.
